New Advisor Onboarding
Challenge: No formal training for faculty advisors.
Beginning with new advisor onboarding, I desgned, implemented, and led interactive professional development training program for 100+ advisors both face-to-face and virtually each year. Conducted multiple end-user training sessions for Student Planning software resulting in increased student and faculty satisfaction with the advising process.
New Student Onboarding
Challenge: Lack of cohesive onboarding for new students. Articulation of complex curriculum and usage of Self-Service software was essential for long-term success.
I revamped and led interactive new student onboarding to include macro overview of Explorations curriculum, initial training on Student Planning software, understanding advising, and accessing support resources.
Software Overview for Non-Technical Users
Challenge: Frequent and informal curricular changes caused degree audit inaccuracies in new Student Planning Self-Service SaaS. Confidence in the new system was at risk.
I recognized the need for faculty to understand HOW the new online degree audit system worked with the existing Student Information System in order to create a formal workflow for ALL curricular modifications. This ensured accuracy in student plans, maximizing value realization for on-time graduation.
Advising Resources in LMS
Challenge: Key information regarding academic requirements, policies and procedures was scattered throughout the institution’s website, hindering advising efforts and creating roadblocks for student planning, timely registration, and efficient financial processes.
I curated and created a comprehensive resource bank into an easily accessible, one-stop resource in the institution's LMS, leading to a 400% increase in student engagement and 80% increase in advisor utilization of LMS-based advising tools.
